Q: When is the best time to trim/prune oak trees in Texas?
A: If the trimming/pruning is done by a professional tree climber under the guidance of a certified arborist, it can be done year-round while following 'best practices' to prevent Oak Wilt.  However, if the trimming/pruning is being done by a hobbyist, homeowner or 'yard guy,' it is best to trim/prune your Oaks in the cooler months of the year between October-March to prevent Oak Wilt.
